Culinary Kids Food Festival

Culinary Kids Food Festival
February 17–23, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
In the Dining Pavilion behind the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory

As part of the Garden’s Edible Academy initiative, join us for a family-friendly, weeklong food festival celebrating the relationships among plants, farms, and your favorite foods. Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden staff and the culinary team, Growing Chefs, will be on hand offering cooking demonstrations, recipes, and hands-on activities, with plenty of music and tastings to add to the fun. Bring your Festival passport along as you tinker with the science of kitchen chemistry and get to the root of foods from pickles to cheese at a variety of activity stations. The daily 1 p.m. cooking demonstration will feature kid-friendly recipes and tasty samples, while local chefs will share tips and recipes.

I will be there On February 22 with other Bloggers from all over NYC and together we will help in guiding a food blogging activity for kids. For more information visit Culinary Kids Food Festival at

  3. What a great idea! My boys are at the stage that they love helping in the kitchen and even say they can’t wait until they can cook for my husband & I! They are always asking questions & I only hope this love for cooking and exploring with different foods continues for years to come!

  4. This sounds like so much fun! Love teaching the kids new things. They love helping me cook.

  5. Love learning activities like this one that engage my daughter and allow us to spend time together. Perfect activity for indoor fun!

  6. My girls will love to attend, my oldies love to help out specially when we baking sweet treats

  7. Well, this does sound great and I’ll have to pass it along to my daughter. I personally taught my kids how to cook when they were younger too just by watching me in the kitchen and they would ask questions. I’m not much of a baker, but my youngest daughter does all the baking in the family and my youngest son sure can cook.
