3 Ski Resorts In The Pocono Mountains For Beginners

Its officially ski season in the north east. Last year the gang and I were able to go on two skiing trips in the Poconos. We were able to take lessons and now were eager to hit the slopes again. Check out my reviews here and here. As a mom I want to make sure that the resort is friendly to beginners so we can feel comfortable in our level. So today  I will be sharing 3 resorts in The Pocono Mountains for beginners for some winter fun.

1)  Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, East Stroudsburg PA

This was our first ever skiing experience I had to add it as my first choice. Shawnee Mountain Ski Area is a family friendly ski area located in Pocono Mountains.  It has 23 slopes and trails, 2 terrain parks and a snow tubing park. They also have great instructors for the kiddos. The kids had a great instructor and we were able to enjoy the bunny slopes. Check out me entire review here

2) Camelback Mountain Resort, Tannersville, PA

A full year resort which includes its well-known water park. Camelback has a surprisingly good variety of trails given starting for beginners all the way to advance levels. It also has the largest tubing area in the country, lots of night skiing and a much-hyped happy hour scene for mami and papi. We were able to visit last year so check my review here.

3) Blue Mountain Resort Palmerton, PA

With 40 years in business Blue Mountain Resort is a veteran among the resorts. Blue Mountain Resort is the home of Pennsylvania’s highest vertical, the most varied terrain and some of the longest runs in PA! It has the best and largest beginner terrain in the region! Terrain-Based Learning provides an excellent on-the-snow experience, and makes learning to ski and snowboard fun for the whole family! If you want your children to have a more in-depth experience than the beginner group lesson they offer the Explorer Program, Mountaineer Program, and the Winter Adventure Camp.
